If you feel that you need an emergency appointment telephone the reception; they will ask the nature of the emergency to make the GP aware and try to offer an emergency sit and wait appointment. Please note we cannot accept emergencies which are "Personal".

Nurse Appointments/Triage

When requesting a Nurses' appointment the reception team will ask you what the problem is (they have been trained to do this).

The main reason for this question is the amount of time you need booked for your appointment, eg if its a blood test that 5-10mins appointment is fine, but if it is for an ECG then you need 15-20mins, so if the reception team do ask, and you feel able to tell them it makes your appointment time better suited to your needs.  It also helps the nurse to make sure she has the right equipment to hand for your appointment.

If the doctor is full you may be offered a Triage appointment with the nurse, the nurse is qualified to deal with triage, and will be able to contact the GP if necessary for advice/prescriptions
